What safety precautions should be taken when using a laser cutting machine

Comply with the operating procedures

Strictly comply with the safety operating procedures of the laser cutting machine to ensure safety. This includes starting the laser correctly according to the startup procedure, and being familiar with the structure, performance, operation process and control panel of the equipment.

Training and qualifications

The operator must undergo professional training, be familiar with the cutting software, equipment structure and performance, and master the relevant knowledge of the operating system.

Labor protection

Labor protection equipment should be worn as required during operation, and protective glasses that meet the requirements must be worn near the laser beam to avoid laser damage to the eyes.

Material processing

Do not process a material before it is clear whether it can be irradiated or cut with a laser to avoid potential dangers of smoke and vapor.

Equipment monitoring

When the equipment is started, the operator shall not leave the post or ask someone to take care of it without authorization. If you need to leave, you should shut down the machine or turn off the power switch. If any abnormality is found during processing, you should shut down the machine immediately, troubleshoot or report it in time.

Fire extinguishing preparation

Put the fire extinguisher in a handy place; turn off the laser or shutter when not processing; do not place paper, cloth or other flammable materials near the unprotected laser beam.

Maintenance and inspection

The equipment should be regularly maintained and inspected, including daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual maintenance work, to ensure the good operation of the machine.

Use of gas cylinders

When using gas cylinders, avoid crushing welding wires and causing leakage. The use and transportation of gas cylinders should comply with the gas cylinder monitoring regulations, avoid exposure to the sun and placing near fire sources1.

Emergency measures

Operators should have the ability to respond. If any abnormal situation occurs during the processing, they should stop the machine immediately, eliminate the fault or report it in time.
