Before analyzing the similarities and differences between woodworking cnc router and machining centers, we must first understand what they are. Woodworking cnc router are generally divided into single process, double process, three or four processes, etc. Generally speaking, woodworking engraving machines can directly change the number of cutter heads, and are mainly used to carve some simple patterns. Generally speaking, the machining center has 8, 12 or even more tool magazines, and the plate design can be more complicated, for now we also called it atc cnc router, cnc nesting machine .
So the two type machine have a lot in common, and there are many differences.
First of all, the most intuitive is the number of cutting tools. The woodworking cnc router has a maximum of 4 heads to hold tools, and the atc machining center can have more cutter heads. Therefore, it can be seen that there is a large gap between the processing functions of the two sides from the total number.
Secondly, engraving machines generally have multiple spindles, three processes have three spindles, and four processes have four spindles. Each spindle is equipped with a cutter head. Which tool head needs to be used for machining, which spindle will sink. The atc machining center has only one spindle, but a tool magazine with a large number of tool heads. When changing a tool, the spindle moves to the tool magazine, and after selecting a suitable tool head, the machining operation starts.
The third is the engraving speed and accuracy. The processing accuracy and speed of the normal cnc router is lower than that of the atc machining center, because the configuration of the two is different. The price of the atc machining center is high, and the configuration is relatively high. Therefore, the machining center is higher than the normal wood router in terms of engraving speed and accuracy.
The fourth is the function, the restriction on the cutter head makes the cnc router limited to simple operations such as engraving and drilling. In addition to engraving functions, the atc machining center also has functions such as cutting, engraving and milling, side milling, and chamfering.
